Variable Measurements. An ongoing investigation into the relationship between clothing, territory and identity, developed through archival research, material experimentation and garment construction. This collection draws primarily on the work of artist Petrona Viera, who was the first woman to be recognized as a professional painter in Uruguay. Her depictions of local landscapes, characteristic palettes and Planist structures became the basis for exploring how colour and landscape can contribute to establishing relationships between bodies and territory.
